JUVENILE DEFENSE, TITLE IX AND DISCIPLINE HEARINGS

Attorney Mead can represent your child in criminal court.  She works hard to keep juveniles out of the adult criminal system and promotes rehabilitation.  Her goal is to put these young people back on track in their lives and to help them avoid trouble in the future.  She represents juveniles in Naples, Fort Myers and surrounding areas.

Today's youth are exposed to more than ever.  Drugs are rampant, gun violence is prevalent and social media has resulted in increased acts of bullying.  Public schools are often ineffective in addressing these issues and tend to be reactive as opposed to proactive.  If your son or daughter has become involved in the discipline process know that all students have the right of due process in any serious disciplinary action and are entitled to have a parent/guardian or attorney present at these hearings.  The effects of an expulsion or suspension are many and far reaching.  Research has shown that students who are expelled or suspended from school are at increased risk for unproductive behavior, adverse social and emotional development and poor academic performance.  According to the Student Discipline Data released by the Florida Department of Education for the 2016-2017 academic year, over 325,000 students were suspended and over 500 expelled.

Lisa Mead's juvenile defense is not reserved for public school students.    She also represents students in local universities including Florida Gulf Coast University, Ave Maria and Ave Maria School of Law in Naples and Fort Myers  This includes  hearings discipline Administration Hearings and Title IX Hearings.  College Students facing discipline hearings can be expelled or suspended.  This is not only academically devastating but financially as oftentimes tuition and other expenses are not reimbursed.
